It's time for SEATTLE

I leave in the very early morning tomorrow! I am just about packed. I had a nice family dinner tonite with my family. We all went for a little walk out to "the Bench" at sunset it was beautiful. I am currently testing to see if I can mobile blog from my phone, as I have decided not to take my computer. I am traveling VERY light, the lightest ever in my whole life. I take more when I go for a little day hike. I have the rolling/backpack suitcase which has 3 days of clothes and my bathroom stuff. Then I have a regular backpack to carry on which has my sketchbook, raincoat and umbrella in it. I know I won't have enough clothes, but I will do laundry on Saturday. I hope I can make this all work. My last week of work was not too good, so I am glad to be getting away. I think I have figured out how to deal with one of my biggest problems, but it will be good to mull it over for the week.(so I don't do anything rash)
I hope my next post is from Seattle...
See ya in Clay Disnyland.
Love, love, love,
Jada

Preping for NCECA 2012

Tonite, I realized NCECA is less than a month away. Whoosh..this is going to be a blast. I am so ready for some clay stimulation! I bought my plane tickets in December and paid for my Membership in January. The place I am staying takes the money when I get there. I made internet reservations for that in December also. I am going to stay at the Green Tortoise Hostel across from Pikes Place Market. I foresee another one of Jada's Excellent Adventures.

I am still looking for a suitcase. I could go get one second hand, but I am thinking that I need a new one. I have been looking and looking, now it is time to make the decision and fork up the cash. I wanted a back pack on wheels, but I think I won't be backpacking anytime soon. My neck is quite out-of-order right now and I am hoping that after tomorrow it will be on the mend.(Cortisone Shot) So, it will be the quad-roller Samsonite, 21# Carry-on. Looking it up on Amazon now! If I can't make a decision, then I can borrow the boyfriends.

This will be my first NCECA with-out a clay roomate. I am a bit apprehensive about staying in the hostel. What if the hostel is hostel? I have just rechecked the website, and went to traveladvisor.com. So far all looks good and fun. Might be nice to get the real flavor of Seattle. I know that at all NCECAs I have been to, have been almost entirely in the hotel and convention center. I say that I have vistited the convention center, hotel, and airport in the host cities for NCECA. Usually the only times you see the city you are in is if you go on the buses on the gallery tours.
